Teaching young artists is a great learning experience for both myself and my students. I cover all the fundamentals of fine art so that the students I teach can practice and develop on their own outside of classes. I'll spend at least a few classes on any given subject so that there is time to understand the full process of the technique or style, and so the student really gets a sense of work ethic and appreciation for the craft. Because of my background in painting, I begin my curriculum with colour theory, usually starting with creating and exploring the colour wheel. I'll then move on to collage, still life and other art projects personalized to the students skills level and interests.
I love teaching my students. Teaching fine art is incredible because I get a chance to explore creativity with a young mind. Art lessons help children in school, giving them the capacity to express their ideas in unlimited ways. Seeing and working with enthusiastic students makes teaching a gratifying experience.
